Today, I want to talk about two new products I recently purchased. First, is The MAC Isabel and Ruben Toledo collection Blush Ombre in Ripe Peach. This blush is a re-release for MAC and since I didn't get it before, when it came out I decided to grab it. It is $32 for 10g/.35oz of product, so it is pricier then there normal blushes. The thing about this blush is you are able to create your own shade mixing the colors as much or as little as you want. The first time I applied it with my new Real Techniques blush brush, which applied it a little heavier then I like. Pigmentation and wear time are both very good. My only complaint is the price. I wish it was a little bite cheaper especially for a MAC blush and I have to careful when putting it on because it is easy to go overboard on my fair skin. If you have a deeper skin tone you will probably love this blush. This blush is available at all Mac counters and stores. I ordered mine from maccosmetics.com because they ship for free. Nordstrom also ships for free.
Top is bottom of blush, middle is mixed, and the bottom is the top of the blush. This was taken with a flash. |

Next, lets talk the Real Techniques blush brush. This brush retails for $26 at Ulta and you are allowed to use coupons on it. Ulta also puts the on sale for buy one get one half off., which is great if you want a good brush but don't want to spend a lot of money. The brush itself is nice but, I wouldn't say it's my favorite blush brush. It is soft but not the softest I have felt and it is pretty dense. It can apply blush a little heavier then I like and I like a nice wash of color but nothing to heavy. This brush I feel like works better with a lighter and less pigmented blush. It also has a weighted handle which is suppose to help with precision when putting on your blush. This is a nice touch but I don't really know if it is needed. Overall, I would say it is a good brush but nothing spectacular.
