Spring wish list

I know it's a little early to be thinking about spring especially since winter just officially started but, I wanted to get a head start on picking out things I wanted for spring. I have a really bad habit of waiting till the a new season actually starts, then trying to get stuff and things always seem to sell out. So this year I decided to make a list of stuff and to watch for them to come on sale. That way I can get them before they sell out. This is my Nordstrom spring wish list. I will be putting out a few more from different stores like Piperlime and of course Sephora.

Last minute Christmas presents

Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow

When I heard Charlotte Tilbury was coming to Nordstrom I got really excited.  Her makeup looks are just so beautiful and the packaging is really glamorous.  My only problem was I don't live anywhere near a Nordstrom that was going to carry them. I knew the only way I was going to get to use some of these products was to take a chance and order them. Ordering makeup I have not seen in person can be kind of hard, you never know if the color you choose will actually work out until you use it. Then, their is the guilt of what if I don't like it? Should I send it back, even though I have used it? So after months of debating I finally decided to try it.

I got the filmstar bronze and glow. To start this is a very beautifully packaged item. It is very glamorous and the product itself is very nice to. I especially like the highlighter. I have been looking for a cool toned face sculpting product. Now, I know their are a lot of cool toned sculptors on the market but, a lot of those product still seem to be kind of orange on me. The sculpt side of this is no different. It is pretty cool toned, but still seems to be a little bit of orange. One thing I really like about it is, you have more control of your color. I have tried bronzers in the past that are so pigmented that as soon as the brush touches your face you look all muddy. With this I feel like you can't go overboard.

The highlighter portion of this is my favorite.  It is so beautiful and can work on a large range of skin tones. I am very fair right now so I dust it on lightly. Darker complexions will be able to use this to create a beautiful glow. If you are looking for a high end sculptor and highlighter, I would definitely recommend this. I can't wait to try more Charlotte Tilbury products now. This item is available at Charlotte Tilbury and Nordstrom.

First Impressions: Makeup Geek Brushes

Recently, I purchased two Makeup Geek brushes to try. A lot of girls on you tube rave about them and for the price, I thought why not. I ordered the pencil brush which cost $7.99 and the small crease brush for $6.99.

The pencil brush I was really excited for because I needed another one. I use my MAC one so much, I feel like I am always cleaning it. Sadly, this brush is not good. It is much smaller then my MAC one and much harder. The bristles on this brush are so hard that it hurts to use. I use my pencil brush to blend out my under eye eyeshadow and this one just does not cut it. This brush was a big disappointment.  I would recommend spending a little more money and buying either the Sigma or MAC pencil brush.

The next brush I ordered was the small crease brush. At first I thought I wasn't going to like it because it was much smaller than I anticipated. But, I love it. It is slightly bigger than my MAC pencil brush and it is rounded, not pointed. The bristles are soft and I find this to be a great multi tasker brush. Its great for precise application and I use it for blending out my under eye eyeshadow. I would definitely recommend this brush and at $6.99 its a great price.
